What is intermittent fasting?
It is a way of eating where you are having longer stretches between eating than you would normally.
You might have heard of the 16:8 or 20:4.
These are all methods of fasting where you would go without eating for example for 16 hours and only eat in the 8 hour window.
The amount of hours you go without eating depends how long you are able to do it for and what health and social requirements you have.
An easy way to do the 16 8 fast would be to stop eating at 7 pm after dinner then eat again at 11 am the next day.
Fasting has many benefits.
1. Helps to burn fat
2. Helps your body to become more efficient at burning fat for fuel
3. Promotes autophagy which is cellular renewal and detoxification
4. Prolongs lifespan
5. Saves time and money!
I regularly fast during weekdays and enjoy a break at the weekends.
